Revenge is a dish best served cold. Over the past two years, the tourism sector had to survive the “ice age” known as the COVID-19 pandemic. Years of restrictions and brutal lockdowns forced travelers to stay at home.

Now it’s time for their revenge travel.

The term “Revenge Travel” has been heavily used by travel marketers to define the (mostly internationally) vacations that are planned after the lessening of COVID-19 restrictions.

The demand to travel in international flights has rapidly increased, with people almost deciding on the spot on what place to visit.

However, COVID-19 is still alive and kicking. Every country is dealing with it differently, but one thing every region wants is to allow the travel industry to rise again.

For example, China, the largest source of tourism revenue before the pandemic, is soon reopening its borders. Therefore Chinese tourists will provide significant aid to many countries on all continents, especially neighboring Asian countries. This might take time, but summer is not that far away.
